Informativa sulla privacy di Seriesly

Ultimo aggiornamento: 28 agosto 2026

1. Chi tratta i tuoi dati

4. Dove stanno i dati

Import da TV Time

7. Come cancellare tutto

Dall'app: Impostazioni → Account → Elimina account.

8. I tuoi diritti

Strumenti tecnici, sempre attivi.

6.1.a GDPR), revocabile in ogni momento.

Seriesly Privacy Policy

Last updated: 28 August 2026

This policy explains what personal data Seriesly processes, why, where it is kept and what you can ask for at any time. It applies to the iPhone app, the Android app and the website: three ways into the same account, holding the same data.

1. Who processes your data

The data controller is Davide Bombacigno, a private individual based in Italy.

For any question, request or to exercise your rights: seriesly.feedback@gmail.com

2. What we process, and why

Account data

When you sign in with Apple or with Google we receive your email address and a user identifier. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose to hide your email, we only receive the anonymous relay address Apple creates: that is perfectly fine, the app works just the same. The provider also sends us your name and, with Google, your profile picture: they stay in the Firebase Authentication record and are only used to show you which account you are signed in with. They are separate from the public username and profile photo, which you choose yourself in the app.

Used to: create your account, recognise you when you come back, and keep your library in sync across your devices.

Your library

The series and movies you follow, episodes marked as watched with their date, ratings, custom lists, rewatch counts and app preferences (for example the order of the sections on the Home screen).

Used to: give you your library back on every device. This is the core of the app.

Your public profile and friends

Username, profile photo (optional), public statistics (hours watched, number of achievements), up to three favourite titles, your friendships and the recommendations you send or receive.

Used to: let your friends find you and let you exchange recommendations.

What other people see: your username, profile photo and public statistics are visible to anyone registered with Seriesly, not just to your friends: they are what lets people find you when they search for your username. Your episode ratings stay anonymous: other people only ever see the aggregated average, never who voted for what.

Reports and blocked users

From the app you can report a user — from their profile, from a friend request or from a recommendation — and block them. A report contains: who sent it, who is being reported (identifier and username), the reason chosen, any text added, the part of the app it was sent from and the date. It reaches our moderation inbox and we use it only to check the reported behaviour and, where needed, act on it: removing content, suspending or closing the reported account. Reports are reviewed within 24 hours and are never visible to other users, not even to the person being reported.

Your list of blocked users is private: it lives in your account, only you can see it (Settings → Account → Blocked users) and it stops the people you blocked from sending you friend requests and recommendations. Blocked users are not notified.

Notifications

If you enable notifications, we process the device token, provided by Apple on iPhone and by Google (Firebase Cloud Messaging) on Android, so we can tell you when an episode airs or when a friend gets in touch.

Diagnostics

The app keeps a technical log on your device to help diagnose malfunctions. It is never sent to us automatically: it only leaves your device if you explicitly share it from the settings.

3. Legal bases

The app does no advertising profiling and includes no measurement or advertising SDK: no processing requires your prior consent.

4. Where the data is kept

Account and library data is stored on Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Cloud Messaging), acting as our data processor.

The database is located in the European multi-region eur3 (Belgium and the Netherlands): your data is stored within the European Union.

Some ancillary Google operations (technical support, for instance) may involve a transfer to the United States, relying on the Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission and on the data processing agreement we have with Google.

5. Who we share data with

We do not sell your data and we do not pass it to anyone else.

Where series and movie information comes from

To show you posters, synopses and release dates we query public services: The Movie Database (TMDB), AniList, TVmaze and Wikidata.

We send these services no name, no email address, no library and no other account data of yours: the only thing that leaves is the public identifier of the series or film (for TVmaze, its IMDb ID), which is about the title, not about you.

That said, as with any content loaded from the internet, when the app downloads a poster or a title page your IP address reaches the service being queried. From the iPhone and Android apps this happens directly. From the website it does not: posters go through an intermediary of ours, and your address never reaches TMDB.

Wikidata is run by the Wikimedia Foundation, based in the United States: it is the only one of these services outside the European Union.

TV Time import

If you choose to import your history from TV Time, you pick the file yourself from your device. It is read and processed entirely on the device and the titles go into your library: the file is never uploaded to our servers.

6. How long we keep it

As long as you keep your account. When you delete it, we delete everything (see section 7).

Two technical exceptions: deletion markers, which tell your other devices that an item was removed, kept for at most 180 days; and the aggregated community rating averages, which contain no reference to you and remain after your own vote is removed.

Reports live in the account of the person who sent them and disappear with it; in any case, once handled they are kept no longer than 12 months.

7. How to delete everything

In the app: Settings → Account → Delete account.

It deletes the account and what it contains — library, movies, lists, preferences, public profile, friendships and recommendations — both on our servers and on the device. It is immediate and you do not need to write to us.

Ratings and profile photo. Deletion also covers the ratings you gave to episodes, movies and characters and your profile photo: our server removes them along with everything else and corrects the community averages by subtracting your vote. This applies to both the iPhone app (from version 3.0.1) and the Android app. If you delete your account from an earlier version of the iPhone app, those two remain: to have them removed, write to seriesly.feedback@gmail.com from your account address and we will take care of it within 30 days.

If you prefer, you can simply sign out instead (Settings → Account → Sign out): the session ends and your data stays.

The Deleting your account page repeats all of this item by item, including what stays and for how long.

8. Your rights

You can ask us at any time to access your data, correct it, delete it, restrict its processing, receive it in a machine-readable format (portability), or object to processing based on legitimate interest.

Write to seriesly.feedback@gmail.com: we reply within one month.

If you believe your data is being processed in breach of the GDPR, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (www.garanteprivacy.it), or with the supervisory authority of the country where you live.

9. Children

Seriesly is not intended for people under 14, and we do not knowingly collect data from children below that age. If you become aware that a child has created an account, write to us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change anything substantial we will update this page and the date at the top, and tell you inside the app. It is worth checking back now and then.

11. Cookies and local storage (website)

The seriesly.it website uses two kinds of tools.

Technical tools, always on. They exist purely to make the site work: the memory of your cookie choice, the cache that keeps the site working offline (service worker) and — on pages with sign-in — Firebase's local session storage. They track nothing and require no consent.

Measurement cookies (Google Analytics), only if you accept. On your first visit we ask whether to enable them: they count visits and where they come from, in aggregate form. They are set only after your consent; if you decline, the site works exactly the same. The cookies used are _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years), set by Google Ireland Ltd, which also processes data under its own policy. You can change your mind at any time via the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of the site's pages; to remove cookies already set, use your browser's clear-browsing-data tool.

Legal basis: consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), revocable at any time. The iPhone and Android apps use no cookies or third-party measurement tools.
